AHHQI and NAHC Announce the Release of the AHHQI 2020 Home Health Chartbook
Washington, D.C. — The Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation (AHHQI or the Alliance) and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) are proud to announce the release of the 2020 AHHQI Home Health Chartbook.
The AHHQI Home Health Chartbook, published annually by the Alliance, provides a broad overview of home health patients, the home health workforce, organizational trends, and the economic contribution of home health agencies. The Chartbook also provides data on 30-day rehospitalization rates.
This data book, compiled and charted by Avalere, summarizes and analyzes statistics on home health from a range of government sources, including the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Medicare Cost Reports, Home Health Compare, Medicare fee-for-service claims, and other data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“The Alliance is excited to announce the National Association of Home Care & Hospice as a sponsor of the 2020 AHHQI Home Health Chartbook,” said Joan Doyle, Chairman of the Alliance’s Board of Directors. “The Alliance and NAHC work collaboratively throughout the year, along with our colleagues across the home health care industry. NAHC is a natural sponsor for the Home Health Chartbook, which provides easily accessible data on the value of home health care to anyone who is interested. We are grateful for their support which will allow the Chartbook to continue to serve as a valuable and freely available resource supporting care in the home.”
“The Chartbook is full of essential information on the impact of the Medicare home health benefit and its impact,” said NAHC President William A. Dombi. “I rely on it all the time in NAHC advocacy and policy development.”
NAHC and The Alliance will present a new webinar, the AHHQI 2020 Home Health Chartbook Overview, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern. The webinar will serve as an overview for the Chartbook, how to use it, key data from this year’s edition, and more. The webinar is free and will be recorded for later use.
Here are a few key takeaways that will be discussed:
- Increase in chronic conditions among HH users;
- A greater percent of total Medicare beneficiaries with income over $25,000 per year;
- A greater percent of Hispanic and Black HH beneficiaries with income under 100% FPL, smaller percentage under 200%; and
- Share of free-standing HH agencies continues to decline.
The webinar is free but registration is required. Register now!
