On June 30, 2023, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the calendar year 2024 Home Health Prospective Payment System Rate Update proposed rule. In addition to rate updates for home health agencies, the rule includes proposals to revise the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HHQRP), the Home Health Value Based Purchasing (HHVBP) demonstration project, and claims processing for disposable negative pressure wound therapy (dPWT).
CMS is also proposing two new Medicare Part B benefit categories along with revisions to the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) benefit. The rule includes two requests for information (RFIs): Access to Home Care Services and Principles for Selecting and Prioritizing HH QRP Quality Measures and Concepts. This presentation will address all the above proposed provisions and the impact on home health agencies.
The proposed rule includes provisions specific to hospice agencies. These proposals will be addressed in a subsequent webinar presentation scheduled for Thursday, July 13, 2023.
