Combating the Workforce Crisis: Studies and Insights
August 23, 2023In recent years, the healthcare industry had been preparing for a shift towards greater reliance on home-based care. However, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this transition, resulting in an immediate demand for home-based care. Unfortunately, the number of families seeking assistance in the home now far surpasses the available workforce capable of providing such care. Consequently, families are left struggling to care for their loved ones without adequate support, while home-based care organizations face challenges in recruiting skilled staff to ensure high-quality care.
This one-hour webinar aims to address these issues by examining two recent studies that shed light on the challenges faced by home-based care workers and organizations. We will explore how learning and development initiatives can help mitigate the impact of these challenges and create a conducive staffing environment, enabling home-based care organizations to assist more families in need.
Participants of this webinar will receive copies of both valuable studies: “The Home Care Workforce Crisis: An Industry Report and Call to Action” by the National Association of Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA), and “The State of The Direct Care Workforce” by NAHC and MissionCare Collective (MCC).
