NAHC Presents Three Critical Webinars in March

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) will present three important webinars in March 2019, each on a critical topic to home health and/or hospice operators.

The IRS is Issuing New ACA Penalties

Tuesday, March 19, 2019; 2:00 – 3:00 PM Eastern

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is now issuing a new set of financial penalties as part of the agency’s ongoing enforcement of the Affordable Care Act and home health operators are particularly vulnerable to these penalties. In fact, some home health operators have already been issued fines, which can reach into the millions of dollars.

For that reason, NAHC will present a webinar on March 19, 2019, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern Time, entitled “The IRS is Issuing New ACA Penalties.” This webinar, which is free to NAHC members and only $100 for non-members, will explain how home health operators can protect their organizations from these severe IRS penalties.

Top 5 Survey Deficiencies & How to Avoid Them: Assessment and Care Planning

Thursday, March 21, 2019; 2:00-3:00 PM Eastern

Most of the top home health survey deficiencies are related to how thoroughly and accurately a home health agency completes assessments and develops, updates, and delivers services of the plan of care. This webinar reviews the top five survey deficiencies for home health agencies in 2018 and provides suggestions and tips for not just avoiding these deficiencies, but how best to approach, document, and use the assessment and plan of care to deliver high quality care while cementing compliance with the most frequently cited conditions of participation.

Survey Implications for Home Health and Hospices

Thursday, March 28, 2019; 2:00-3:00 PM Eastern

Survey deficiencies have increased in both home health and hospice, a trend related to branch offices/multiple locations and how operations are handled. There are also increased survey deficiencies related to how home health agencies and hospices with corporate entities, whether large or small, are handling daily operations.

These deficiencies are often at the condition level and can come as a surprise to the provider, since many have been operating in much the same way for years without deficiencies. This webinar will review the practices that are causing the deficiencies, discuss why they are now being viewed as a deficient practice, and tell you how to revise practices to minimize the risk of survey deficiencies. Examples from actual surveys will be shared.
