Webinar Series on the New Emergency Preparedness Guidelines

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is pleased to present, in association with RBC Limited Healthcare & Management Consultants, an important new webinar series, beginning June 4, 2019, to prepare home health and hospice agencies for the new 2019 interpretive guidelines in emergency preparedness. The series will be led by a nationally-recognized expert on emergency preparedness for home health and hospice, Barbara B. Citarella RN, MS NHDP-BC.

“The CMS regulations have been updated this year,” says Ms. Citarella. “Are you aware of the changes related to Zika and Ebola? Do you know that one of the top 5 deficiencies for home care and hospice is ‘maintaining and updating the agency disaster plan?’  Join us for a four part webcast to help you navigate the new regs and update your plan”

Agencies continue to struggle with the development of a disaster preparedness plan that will not only be in compliance, but realistic in an event. Areas of weaknesses in the process have been identified by CMS and accrediting bodies. On top of that, there were changes made to regulations at the end of 2018 and appeared in the 2019 interpretive guidelines. This series of four  one-hour webinars will provide in-depth knowledge of the requirements that home health and hospice organizations are subject to, with specific focus on: recent survey findings, explanation of the regulations, starting the agency-specific plan, building the plan, development of policies and procedures, communication, and testing and training.

Attending this web series will give participants a vastly increased understanding of the newly updated federal emergency preparedness requirements that are part of the home health and hospice Conditions of Participation (CoPs). Attendees will also learn how to apply the federal requirements for disaster preparedness in their own specific agencies.

Recorded sessions will be available. Please note there is limited seating in the live sessions so please register early. Please note only one seat per registration.

Part 1 of the webinar series will focus on SURVEY FINDINGS and REVIEW OF THE REGULATIONS. Airs live on June 4, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Eastern time.

Part 2 of the webinar series will focus on STARTING AND BUILDING THE PLAN. Airs live on June 11, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Eastern time.

Part 3 of the webinar series will focus on DEVELOPMENT OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. Airs live on June 18, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Eastern time.

Part 4 of the webinar series will focus on COMMUNICATION/TESTING AND TRAINING. Airs live on June 25, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Eastern time.

Unless you already know the new 2019 guidelines back to front, you need to learn what you need to know from someone with the knowledge and experience to make sure you’re prepared for the worst – and that’s Barbara Citarella and NAHC.
