Washington, D.C., February 20, 2018:
William A. Dombi accepting the position of president |
The Board of Directors of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) announced the appointment of William A. Dombi as the President of NAHC. Mr. Dombi was originally named interim president of NAHC in August 2017 following the passing of NAHC’s long-time president Val J. Halamandaris.
“It is a great honor to serve as the president of NAHC at a time when home care and hospice have moved into the forefront of health care as the leading solutions for truly patient-centered care,” said Mr. Dombi, as he accepted the position.
“Bill Dombi has been at the center of every fight for home care and hospice in the last 30 years,” said Denise Schrader, Chair of the NAHC Board of Directors. “No one knows more about this industry than Bill does and no one is more trusted in the industry. Bill’s knowledge of law and policy, as well as his experience and familiarity with the NAHC staff and members, make him the perfect person for the job.”
Mr. Dombi has served as Vice President for Law at NAHC since 1987 and is also the Director of the Center for Health Care Law and the Executive Director of the Home Care and Hospice Financial Managers Association. During his over three decades of experience in health care policy and law, Mr. Dombi has been involved in virtually every legislative, regulatory, and legal development in home care and hospice.
Mr. Dombi served as lead counsel in the seminal lawsuit that successfully reformed the Medicare home health services benefit and has litigated numerous other lawsuits on behalf of home care and hospice patients and providers of care.
“NAHC is the leading voice for home care and hospice, ” said Ms. Schrader. “We are fully confident that Bill is the best person to take NAHC in the future.”
